In 2006 we celebrated our 25th Anniversary with a special enrolment and themed display. At present we have over 140 girls in our company and it is going from strength to strength each year. The 315th GB is a company with a strong Christian foundation. The officers all genuinely care for each girl and have a strong desire to help them develop in the four areas of our badge, (Spiritual, Physical, Education and Service) and believe that the Girl's Brigade provides a programme that enables girls to become well-rounded young people. Most of our officers came through the ranks of GB themselves. Our Captain is Mrs. Freda Parker. Thursday nights are hectic, challenging and fun. We have an excellent and practical Scipture programme and are usually very successful in competitions such as PE and Choral Speaking. This year we particularly enjoyed many new which included the 'Helping Hands' Badge. We had visits from the Blind Centre when we wore various glasses to help us realise what it is like to have poor vision. We had a wonderful time with a guide dog and its owner. The Occupational Therapists told us in a practical hands-on way about a day in the life of a disabled young person. We learned how difficult it was to get dressed and play games with one arm or no use of arms or legs and the girls learned how blessed they were. We had a great night with two young girls and there Mum who are all deaf. We learnt that our lives are all basically the same, with the same likes and dislikes and we also learned some sign language. Another Highlight of our year was a 'Chocolate Workshop' which was great fun!
New Girls are always welcome!
